When awards post
Awards run every Sunday at 08:00 HST (Pacific/Honolulu) for the previous Mon–Sun week.
- Winners are announced in RootMC Discord general chat.
- Last week’s role holders lose the award role; this week’s winners receive it fresh.
- Recent winners also appear on the rootmc.net home page after the post goes live.
Top Participator (Discord)
The Top Participator role goes to the top 5 Discord members who contributed the most meaningful activity that week.
Staff are included. #ingame-chat bridge messages count. Automated bot channels (e.g. #bot-spam, daily report feeds) are not counted toward messages or reactions.
You need at least 5 weighted points in a week to qualify.
How Discord points work
| Action | Points |
| Message block — one run of your messages until someone else speaks in that channel | 1 |
Community vote — /proposal vote (linked players) | 5 each |
| Reaction — emoji on a community message (bots excluded) | 1 each |
Weighted score = blocks + (votes × 5) + reactions.
Example: 3 message blocks, 2 votes, and 4 reactions = 3 + 10 + 4 = 17 points.
Message blocks (not every message)
Back-to-back messages from you in the same channel count as one block — not one point per message.
A new block starts when you post again after another person has spoken in that channel. Rapid “e e e e” floods in a row without anyone else talking are still one block and one point.
Activity is synced from Discord into the database on a schedule. Votes are recorded when you cast them on proposals.
Root-AI judgment
After raw scores are calculated, Root-AI reviews the week’s saved activity for top candidates and:
- Ranks the final top 5 Top Participators.
- Excludes spam — letter floods, filler-only bursts, and low-effort noise can be removed from that week’s calculations even if the raw score looked high.
If Root-AI is unavailable, the server falls back to weighted scores with automatic spam heuristics.
Gaming the counter with meaningless spam won’t help — you still get judged by Root-AI.
Top Active Players (in-game)
The Top Active Player Discord role and in-game [Top Active Player] prefix go to the top 3 linked players by playtime earned that week only — not lifetime playtime.
- Playtime comes from RootStat sync totals (end-of-week snapshot minus the prior Sunday snapshot).
- You must be linked — Minecraft account tied to Discord via
/link and web verify.
- Minimum 1 hour of in-game time that week to qualify.
The first week after playtime tracking starts may only seed a baseline; awards begin once a full week of deltas exists.
Pro membership reward
Only the #1 Top Active Player receives one week of Pro membership:
- App — higher AI report limits and other RootMC app perks on the linked account.
- In-game — chat shows a
[Pro] prefix (synced on join from your linked account), in addition to [Top Active Player] for ranks 1–3.
- Granted via your linked account email — sign into the app with the same account you verified in-game.
- Life members and paid Pro are not overwritten.
- Next Sunday: if you are not #1 again, award Pro is removed (paid / life Pro stays). Top-3 prefix/role refresh with the new week’s winners.
Discord Top Participator winners receive the Discord role only — not automatic Pro (unless you also place #1 in-game).
Paid Pro & Lifetime
Separate from weekly awards, you can support the server with a RootMC Pro Membership. Full perk list and checkout buttons: rootmc.net/pro. At checkout, enter the Minecraft username who should receive Pro (yourself or a gift).
- $4.99 / month — subscription Pro on that linked account while the sub is active (not an item).
- $4.99 one-time — one-month Pro voucher delivered to that player’s
/vault; tradeable until redeemed in-game.
- $75 one-time — Lifetime Pro voucher the same way; redeem for permanent Lifetime.
The beneficiary must already have a linked Minecraft account. Weekly award Pro is temporary and separate from paid months and Lifetime.
Discord roles
Two separate roles refresh every Sunday:
| Role | Who gets it | Count |
| Top Participator | Best Discord activity (after Root-AI) | Top 5 |
| Top Active Player | Most weekly in-game playtime (linked) | Top 3 |
Roles are removed from last week’s holders when the new post goes out.

FAQ
Do I need to link to compete on Discord?
No for Top Participator — Discord activity counts from your Discord user ID. Linking is required for in-game awards and Pro membership.
Why didn’t my spam messages rank me?
Root-AI excludes obvious spam from that week. One-word floods in a row are only one message block anyway.
Does staff activity count?
Yes on Discord. In-game playtime uses the same rules for everyone with a linked account.
When does my Pro week start?
After the Sunday award cron runs — only the #1 Top Active Player gets weekly Pro. Check the app account tied to your linked email.
